Interactions
Drug :-
Alpha
blockers (such as doxazosin, terazosin):
May increase risk of hypotension. Use

together cautiously.
Antiarrhythmics, class IA (procainamide, quinidine) and class III (amiodarone, sotalol),
antibiotics (gatifloxacin, moxifloxacin), antipsychotics (chlorpromazine, thioridazine,
ziprasidone), citalopram:
May prolong QTc interval, leading to lethal arrhythmias such as torsades
de pointes. Avoid use together.
Antidepressants (fluvoxamine, imipramine, paroxetine):
May increase asenapine level. Use together
cautiously. Reduce paroxetine dosage by half if using with asenapine.
CNS agents (opioids):
May enhance CNS depression. Use with caution.
Dextromethorphan, paroxetine:
May increase dextromethorphan and paroxetine levels. Use together
cautiously.
Metoclopramide:
May increase risk of extrapyramidal reactions. Avoid administering together.
Black Box Warning-
Opioids:
May cause slow or difficult breathing, sedation, and death. Avoid use
together. If use together is necessary, limit dosage and duration of each drug to the minimum necessary
for desired effect.
