Side effects of Equirex 5mg/2.5mg Tablet
The most common side effects of Equirex 5mg/2.5mg Tablet are - Headache, Congestive Heart Failure, Edema, Blurred Vision, Decreased Visual Acuity, Macular Edema, Pharyngitis, Sinusitis, Tooth Disorders, Fractures, Myalgia
These side effects can usually occur in patients. However, these are only indicative and not all patients will experience them.
Precautions while taking Equirex 5mg/2.5mg Tablet
Do not use Equirex 5mg/2.5mg Tablet if you are allergic to - Chlordiazepoxide, Clidinium
If you have heart disease, liver or kidney disease, drug or alcohol addiction, consult your doctor before using Equirex 5mg/2.5mg Tablet.
If you are allergic to any medicine or food, consult your doctor before using this medicine.
Use this medicine under the supervision of your doctor.
To avoid an adverse reaction, consult your doctor if you are already taking other medicines.
Dosage of Equirex 5mg/2.5mg Tablet
Equirex 5mg/2.5mg Tablet contains - Chlordiazepoxide, Clidinium
Chlordiazepoxide works by acting on receptors in the brain called GABA receptors. This causes the release of a neurotransmitter called GABA in the brain, GABA is a neurotransmitter that acts as a natural 'nerve-calming' agent.
Clidinium inhibits muscarinic acetylcholine receptors on smooth muscles, secretory glands, and in the central nervous system to relax smooth muscle and decrease biliary tract secretions.
Overdose of Equirex 5mg/2.5mg Tablet
The dosage of Equirex 5mg/2.5mg Tablet depends on many factors such as the patient age, health, medical condition or history of the patient and many other conditions.
Please use this medicine as prescribed by your doctor.
Onset of Action of Equirex 5mg/2.5mg Tablet
If you forget to take a dose of Equirex 5mg/2.5mg Tablet, do not take two doses at the same time, there is a risk of overdose.

Interactions
Drug :-
antacids: Altered rate of chlordiazepoxide absorption.
cimetidine, disulfiram, fluoxetine, isoniazid, ketoconazole, metoprolol, oral contraceptives, propoxyphene, propranolol, valproic acid: Increased blood chlordiazepoxide level.
CNS depressants: Increased CNS effects.
digoxin: Increased blood digoxin level and risk of digitalis toxicity.
levodopa: Decreased efficacy of levodopa's antiparkinsonian effects.
neuromuscular blockers: Potentiated, counteracted, or diminished effects of neuromuscular blockers.
phenytoin: Possibly increased phenytoin toxicity.
probenecid: Shortened onset of action or prolonged effect of chlordiazepoxide.
rifampin: Decreased chlordiazepoxide effect.
theophyllines: Antagonized sedative effects of chlordiazepoxide.
