Side effects of Amixide 5mg Tablet
The most common side effects of Amixide 5mg Tablet are - Fatigue, Dizziness, Depression, Nightmares, Short-Term Memory Loss, Hypotension, Headache, Insomnia, Mental Confusion, Bradycardia, Edema, Palpitations, Diarrhea, Constipation, Heartburn, Nausea, Dry Mouth, Flatulence, Gastric Pain
These side effects can usually occur in patients. However, these are only indicative and not all patients will experience them.
Precautions while taking Amixide 5mg Tablet
Do not use Amixide 5mg Tablet if you are allergic to - Amitriptyline, Chlordiazepoxide
If you have heart disease, liver or kidney disease, drug or alcohol addiction, consult your doctor before using Amixide 5mg Tablet.
If you are allergic to any medicine or food, consult your doctor before using this medicine.
Use this medicine under the supervision of your doctor.
To avoid an adverse reaction, consult your doctor if you are already taking other medicines.
Dosage of Amixide 5mg Tablet
Amixide 5mg Tablet contains - Amitriptyline, Chlordiazepoxide
Amitriptyline works in depression by prolonging the activity of neurotransmitters called serotonin and noradrenaline that are released from nerve cells in the brain. This helps prolong the mood lightening effect of these neurotransmitters and helps relieve depression.
Chlordiazepoxide works by acting on receptors in the brain called GABA receptors. This causes the release of a neurotransmitter called GABA in the brain, GABA is a neurotransmitter that acts as a natural 'nerve-calming' agent.
Overdose of Amixide 5mg Tablet
The dosage of Amixide 5mg Tablet depends on many factors such as the patient age, health, medical condition or history of the patient and many other conditions.
Please use this medicine as prescribed by your doctor.
Onset of Action of Amixide 5mg Tablet
If you forget to take a dose of Amixide 5mg Tablet, do not take two doses at the same time, there is a risk of overdose.
If you notice any unusual reaction in your body after taking this medicine, contact your doctor immediately or call your local medical emergency number.

Drug :-
anticholinergics, epinephrine, norepinephrine: Increased effects of these drugs.
barbiturates: Decreased amitriptyline level.
carbamazepine: Decreased serum amitriptyline level and increased serum carbamazepine level, which increases therapeutic and toxic effects of carbamazepine
cimetidine, disulfiram, fluoxetine, fluvoxamine, haloperidol, H2-receptor antagonists,methylphenidate, oral contraceptives, paroxetine,phenothiazines, sertraline: Increased serum amitriptyline level.
cisapride: Possibly prolonged QT interval and increased risk of arrhythmias.
clonidine, guanethidine, and other antihypertensives: Decreased antihypertensive effects.
dicumarol: Increased anticoagulant effect.
levodopa: Decreased levodopa absorption, sympathetic hyperactivity, sinus tachycardia, hypertension, agitation MAO inhibitors: Possibly seizures and death
thyroid replacement drugs: Arrhythmias and increased antidepressant effects.
Activity :-
