Drug:-
anticholinergics, epinephrine, norepinephrine: The effects of these drugs may increase.
Barbiturates: May decrease amitriptyline levels.
Carbamazepine: Decreased serum amitriptyline levels and increased serum carbamazepine levels, which increases the therapeutic and toxic effects of carbamazepine.
Cimetidine, disulfiram, fluoxetine, fluvoxamine, haloperidol, H2-receptor antagonists, methylphenidate, oral contraceptives, paroxetine, phenothiazines, sertraline: may increase amitriptyline levels.
Cisapride: Increased risk of prolonged QT interval and arrhythmias.
Clonidine, guanethidine, and other antihypertensives: may decrease antihypertensive effect.
Dicumarol: Increases anticoagulant effect.
levodopa: Levodopa deficiency.
Thyroid replacement drugs: Arrhythmias and increased antidepressant effects.
