How Clonazepam Works
Clonazepam prevents seizures by potentiating the effects of gamma-aminobutyric acid GABA, which is an inhibitory neurotransmitter. Suppresses the spread of seizure activity caused by seizure-producing foci in the cortex, thalamus, and limbic structures.
