Aten-H 25 Tablet is used for the treatment or prevention of the following disease(s):
Angina Pectoris and Hypertension
Side effects of Aten-H 25 Tablet
The most common side effects of Aten-H 25 Tablet are - Dizziness, Drowsiness, Fatigue, Fever, Lethargy, Light-Headedness, Short-Term Memory Loss, Vertigo
These side effects can usually occur in patients. However, these are only indicative and not all patients will experience them.
Precautions while taking Aten-H 25 Tablet
Do not use Aten-H 25 Tablet if you are allergic to - Atenolol, Hydrochlorothiazide
If you have heart disease, liver or kidney disease, drug or alcohol addiction, consult your doctor before using Aten-H 25 Tablet.
If you are allergic to any medicine or food, consult your doctor before using this medicine.
Use this medicine under the supervision of your doctor.
To avoid an adverse reaction, consult your doctor if you are already taking other medicines.
Dosage of Aten-H 25 Tablet
Aten-H 25 Tablet contains - Atenolol, Hydrochlorothiazide
Atenolol inhibits stimulation of beta1-receptor sites, located mainly in the heart, decreasing cardiac excitability, cardiac output, and myocardial oxygen demand. Atenolol also acts to decrease release of renin from the kidneys, aiding in reducing blood pressure.
Hydrochlorothiazide increases sodium and water excretion by inhibiting sodium and chloride reabsorption in distal segment of the nephron.
Overdose of Aten-H 25 Tablet
The dosage of Aten-H 25 Tablet depends on many factors such as the patient age, health, medical condition or history of the patient and many other conditions.
Please use this medicine as prescribed by your doctor.
Onset of Action of Aten-H 25 Tablet
If you forget to take a dose of Aten-H 25 Tablet, do not take two doses at the same time, there is a risk of overdose.

Interactions
Drug :-
amiodarone: Additive atenolol effects calcium channel blockers, such as verapamil and diltiazem: Possibly symptomatic bradycardia and conduction abnormalities.
catecholamine-depleting drugs, such as reserpine: Additive antihypertensive effect.
clonidine: Rebound hypertension.
disopyramide: Increased risk of severe bradycardia, asystole, and heart failure.
