Precautions & Warnings
Alcohol
Don't consume alcohol while taking this medicine; it may increase the risk of side effects. Adverse effects symptoms - changes in heart rate; sleepiness; excessive sweating; muscle stiffness.
Pregnancy
It is safe to take this medicine during pregnancy. However; consult your doctor before taking this medicine.
Breastfeeding
This medicine is safe to use during breastfeeding. It is advisable to consult your doctor before taking this medication.
Driving
Not safe during driving; you may feel dizzy or sleepy after taking this medicine.

Interactions
Drug :-
anticholinergics, epinephrine, norepinephrine: Increased effects of these drugs.
barbiturates: Decreased amitriptyline level.
carbamazepine: Decreased serum amitriptyline level and increased serum carbamazepine level, which increases therapeutic and toxic effects of carbamazepine
cimetidine, disulfiram, fluoxetine, fluvoxamine, haloperidol, H2-receptor antagonists,methylphenidate, oral contraceptives, paroxetine,phenothiazines, sertraline: Increased serum amitriptyline level.
cisapride: Possibly prolonged QT interval and increased risk of arrhythmias.
clonidine, guanethidine, and other antihypertensives: Decreased antihypertensive effects.
dicumarol: Increased anticoagulant effect.
levodopa: Decreased levodopa absorption, sympathetic hyperactivity, sinus tachycardia, hypertension, agitation MAO inhibitors: Possibly seizures and death
thyroid replacement drugs: Arrhythmias and increased antidepressant effects.
Activity :-
alcohol use: Enhanced CNS depression.
smoking: Decreased amitriptyline effects
