Side effects of Glucobay M 50 Tablet
The most common side effects of Glucobay M 50 Tablet are - Edema, Abdominal Distention and Pain, Diarrhea, Flatulence, Hepatitis, Hepatotoxicity, Ileus, Jaundice, Erythema, Exanthema, Rash, Urticaria
These side effects can usually occur in patients. However, these are only indicative and not all patients will experience them.
Precautions while taking Glucobay M 50 Tablet
Do not use Glucobay M 50 Tablet if you are allergic to - Acarbose, Metformin
If you have heart disease, liver or kidney disease, drug or alcohol addiction, consult your doctor before using Glucobay M 50 Tablet.
If you are allergic to any medicine or food, consult your doctor before using this medicine.
Use this medicine under the supervision of your doctor.
To avoid an adverse reaction, consult your doctor if you are already taking other medicines.
Dosage of Glucobay M 50 Tablet
Glucobay M 50 Tablet contains - Acarbose, Metformin
Acarbose works by slowing the action of certain chemicals that break down food to release glucose (sugar) into your blood. Slowing food digestion helps keep blood glucose from rising very high after meals.
Metformin decreases hepatic glucose production, decreases intestinal absorption of glucose and improves insulin sensitivity by increasing peripheral glucose uptake and utilization.
Overdose of Glucobay M 50 Tablet
The dosage of Glucobay M 50 Tablet depends on many factors such as the patient age, health, medical condition or history of the patient and many other conditions.
Please use this medicine as prescribed by your doctor.
Onset of Action of Glucobay M 50 Tablet
If you forget to take a dose of Glucobay M 50 Tablet, do not take two doses at the same time, there is a risk of overdose.
If you notice any unusual reaction in your body after taking this medicine, contact your doctor immediately or call your local medical emergency number.

Drug :-
Calcium Channel Blockers, Digestive Enzymes such as Pancreatin, Diuretics, Estrogen, Intestinal Adsorbents such as Activated Charcoal, Isoniazid, Nicotinic Acid, Oral Contraceptives, Phenothiazines, Phenytoin, Sympathomimetics, Thyroid Hormones: Possibly decreased therapeutic effects of acarbose.
Digoxin: Decreased serum level and therapeutic effects of digoxin.
Insulin, Sulfonylureas: Decreased insulin action, possibly increased risk of hypoglycemia.
