Interactions

Drug :- antihypertensives, diuretics: Decreased antihypertensive effect.

beta blockers: Mutual inhibition of therapeutic effects, increased risk of bronchospasm.

CNS stimulants: Additive CNS stimulation, possibly resulting in adverse effects.

digoxin: Increased risk of arrhythmias, possibly digitalis toxicity.

halogenated anesthetics: Possibly ventricular arrhythmias.

MAO inhibitors: Possibly potentiated action of terbutaline, headache, hyperpyrexia, hypertension, possible hypertensive crisis.

maprotiline, tricyclic antidepressants:Possibly potentiated action of terbutaline.

nitrates: Decreased effectiveness of nitrates.

ritodrine: Increased effects of either drug and potential for adverse effects.

sympathomimetics: Increased CNS stimulation and risk of adverse cardiovascular effects, including prolonged QT interval.

thyroid hormones: Increased effects of either drug, risk of coronary insufficiency in patients with coronary artery disease.

xanthines theophylline: Increased CNS stimulation and other additive toxic effects.

Food :- caffeine: Increased CNS stimulation and other additive toxic effects.
