Metopar 5 mg/325 mg Tablet is used for the treatment or prevention of the following disease(s):
Nausea, Heartburn, Vomiting
Side effects of Metopar 5 mg/325 mg Tablet
The most common side effects of Metopar 5 mg/325 mg Tablet are - Anxiety, Drowsiness, Dystonic Reactions, Seizures, Extrapyramidal Symptoms, Insomnia, Hallucinations, Headache, Restlessness, Suicidal Ideation, Akathisia, Confusion, Depression, Dizziness, Tardive Dyskinesia
These side effects can usually occur in patients. However, these are only indicative and not all patients will experience them.
Precautions while taking Metopar 5 mg/325 mg Tablet
Do not use Metopar 5 mg/325 mg Tablet if you are allergic to - Metoclopramide, Paracetamol
If you have heart disease, liver or kidney disease, drug or alcohol addiction, consult your doctor before using Metopar 5 mg/325 mg Tablet.
If you are allergic to any medicine or food, consult your doctor before using this medicine.
Use this medicine under the supervision of your doctor.
To avoid an adverse reaction, consult your doctor if you are already taking other medicines.
Dosage of Metopar 5 mg/325 mg Tablet
Metopar 5 mg/325 mg Tablet contains - Metoclopramide, Paracetamol
Metoclopramide stimulates motility of upper GI tract, increases lower esophageal sphincter tone and blocks dopamine receptors at the chemoreceptor trigger zone.
Paracetamol thought to produce analgesia by inhibiting prostaglandin and other substances that sensitize pain receptors. Drug may relieve fever through central action in the hypothalamic heat-regulating center.
Overdose of Metopar 5 mg/325 mg Tablet
The dosage of Metopar 5 mg/325 mg Tablet depends on many factors such as the patient age, health, medical condition or history of the patient and many other conditions.

Onset of Action of Metopar 5 mg/325 mg Tablet
If you forget to take a dose of Metopar 5 mg/325 mg Tablet, do not take two doses at the same time, there is a risk of overdose.

Interactions
Drug :- Anticholinergics, opioid analgesics:
May antagonize GI motility effects of
metoclopramide. Use together cautiously.
CNS depressants:
May cause additive CNS effects. Avoid using together.
Levodopa:
Levodopa and metoclopramide have opposite effects on dopamine receptors. Avoid using
together.
MAO inhibitors:
May increase release of catecholamines in patients with hypertension. Use together
cautiously.
Phenothiazines:
May increase risk of extrapyramidal effects. Monitor patient closely.
