The most common side effects of Septran DS 800mg/160mg Tablet are - Headache, Nausea, Vomiting, Dizziness, Insomnia, Tenderness

Do not use Septran DS 800mg/160mg Tablet if you are allergic to - Sulfamethoxazole, Trimethoprim

Septran DS 800mg/160mg Tablet contains - Sulfamethoxazole, Trimethoprim
sulfamethoxazole (TMP/SMX) is an antibiotic used to treat a variety of bacterial infections. It works by blocking the making and use of folate by the microorganisms.
Trimethoprim works by preventing the bacteria from producing folate. Without folate, the bacteria cannot produce DNA and so are unable to increase in numbers.
