Interactions

Drug :- ACE inhibitors, angiotensin II receptor antagonists, potassium-sparing diuretics, potassium supplements: Increased risk of hyperkalemia.

allopurinol, amiodarone, azithromycin, bromocriptine, clarithromycin, colchicine, danazol, diltiazem, erythromycin, fluconazole, hormonal contraceptives, imatinib, itraconazole, ketoconazole, methylprednisolone, metoclopromide, nefazodone, nicardipine, oral contraceptives, quinupristin and dalfopristin, verapamil, voriconazole: Increased cyclosporine level.

amphotericin B, azapropazon, cimetidine, ciprofloxacin, colchicine, co-trimoxazole, fibric acid derivatives bezafibrate, fenofibrate, gentamicin, ketoconazole, melphalan, NSAIDs, ranitidine, tacrolimus, tobramycin, vancomycin: Increased risk of nephrotoxicity.

atorvastatin, fluvastatin, lovastatin, pravastatin, simvastatin: Risk of myotoxicity.

bosentan, carbamazepine, nafcillin, octreotide, orlistat, oxcarbazepine, phenobarbital, phenytoin, rifampin, St. John's wort, sulfinpyrazone, terbinafine, ticlopidine: Decreased blood cyclosporine level and therapeutic response.

colchicine: Possibly colchicine toxicity, such as myopathy and neuropathy.

digoxin: Increased blood digoxin level and risk of digitalis toxicity.

indinavir, nelfinavir, ritonavir, saquinavir: Possibly increased blood cyclosporine level.

methotrexate: Increased blood methotrexate level and risk of renal dysfunction.

methylprednisolone high dose: Increased risk of seizures.

other immunosuppressants: Possibly excessive immunosuppression.

prednisolone: Increased prednisolone level.

repaglinide: Possibly increased repaglinide level and risk of hypoglycemia.

sirolimus: Increased blood sirolimus level.

vaccines killed or live virus: Possibly suppressed immune response and increased adverse effects of vaccine.

Food :- Grapefruit, grapefruit juice: Increased risk of nephrotoxicity.

Potassium-rich foods: Increased risk of hyperkalemia.
